“Let it be”
by Bud McCord
“And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Revelation 22:10–13
Until the end of the history of the world as we know it we are all told to live in a state of “Let him be.” “Let him be unjust”. “Let him be filthy”. “Let him be righteous” “Let him be holy”.
Christians and non-Christians get really frustrated with the idea of “Let him be”. We want to take aciton and “make them be”. We should remember that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He invites us to be what we really are and what we really want to be because He most certainly will remain what He is.
In Christ, God has given us the choice to be what we want to be, but we do not control the conseguences of what we have chosen. Choices matter because there are consequences.
Choose wisely what you want to be forever and with whom you want to be forever. Once the “Beginning and the End “comes the time for changing what we we are will end.
