Jesus and the Christianizing of Everything
Christianity understood correctly is 100% Jesus. Nothing can be Christian apart from Jesus. Only that which Jesus inspires and sustains can truly qualify as Christian or Christianized. So, we pray for the Christianizing of everything in and through Jesus.
Jesus was very clear when He said to His first followers “without Me you can do nothing.” Nothing is one of the few words that ends debate and Jesus meant to end all debate about what Christians can do without HIm. Remove Jesus and Christianity disappears.
It is also correct to say that the universe is originally and eternally Christian. Paul’s wonderful declaration in Colossians 1:15-20 leaves only one correct way to see everything that exists. Everything is already Christianized in Jesus or someday will be.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
These words make it clear that Jesus will not stop until everything is reconciled to Him. In other words, christianized.
When we introduce others to Jesus we are introducing them to the reality that was, is and is to come. To invite them accept Jesus is to ask them to be reconciled to what has always been, always is and always will be. When we invite others to receive Jesus we invite them to be Christianized. That is, be forever forgiven, inspired and sustained 100% in Christ. Being christianized is to go back to reality in Jesus.
A truly christianized person will gladly say “For to me to live is Christ.” and “I no longer live but Christ lives in me.” A truly christianized person will know that Christ is being formed in them and nothing better could ever happen to them.
In Jesus Christ the Christianizing of everything is already well advanced and moving toward its inevitable goal. The greatest good we can ever experience is to be made one with God in Christ. All creation will finally rejoice when Jesus inspires and sustains everything forever. And all in whom Christ lives will be there for the celebration.
