“He was in the world, and the world was made through Him and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
“We demand our rights!” “OK” said the Lord. Now that we have had them for thousands of years, what have we done with them?
The history of humanity is the tragic answer to what we have done with the ‘rights’ we demanded. Every generation demands more and more “rights” and then goes on to squander them.
What we really need is the “right” to become children of God. This “right” we cannot demand but we can receive it if we will believe that only Jesus can give it to us and He willing to give it to us. The right to become ‘children of God” is the right that rights every other right.
Only when we have had our fill of our own “rights” will we surrender to Jesus and humbly receive the only ‘right’ we really need. We only need the “right” to be the children of God we were created to be. Only Jesus can make that “right” ours. His life and death say He is willing.
Our first demand as humans should be” Jesus, give us the right to become children of God! Please!”
