Dealing With Reality
People who refuse to deal with reality do not get far in life. Reality has a way of finding all of us and convincing us that reality just will not bend to our will.
Mentally healthy people do not fight with reality. They cooperate with reality. They accept reality for what it is when they see it clearly. As they see reality they learn to work with reality to make life work.
Jesus claimed to be the perfect revelation of reality. “He who has seen me has seen the Father.” When we see Jesus as the perfect expression of reality, reality has found us. Once reality in Jesus is found the adjustments begin. These adjustments bear the fruit of real life.
Just a certainly as taking a person to reality is the only hope for a better life, taking people to Jesus is the only hope. The kindest thing one can do for another is to help them find reality and adjust to it.
Not all people see Jesus as reality so they must eventually come to some other conclusion. The choice is theirs but no one gets to alter the consequences of reality. Reality always finds us.
Everyone should be given an opportunity to see and accept Jesus as reality. If they chose Him or not as reality, He still remains the same. What could have been for them depends on reality. Reality is the final word.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
